CalHFA MyAccess: Compare Assistance & First-Mortgage Costs

Understand MyAccess and CalPLUS Access, and compare assistance with your full loan costs before choosing a California purchase program.

MyAccess is part of a financing combination

CalHFA pairs MyAccess with CalPLUS Access Conventional for down payment or closing-cost assistance. Do not assume it works with every conventional mortgage.

What should I compare?

Request the first-mortgage rate and fees, assistance balance, interest terms and repayment conditions together. Compare with MyHome and an unassisted purchase option using the same price and budget. Avoid treating deferred payments as free money.

Check the current details

Availability, lender participation and your specific eligibility need confirmation before you rely on this option. Start with your purchase location, approximate budget and available cash.

Sacramento-area buyers: check the property location

Statewide and local assistance are not interchangeable. Before counting on local funds, confirm the property’s jurisdiction, current funding and any program-specific requirements. Review SHRA’s official homebuyer resources for Sacramento-area information. A Sacramento mailing address alone does not establish eligibility.
